Job description
Successful manufacturer supplying product to aerospace and defence customers require a Production & Materials Planner. Applicants need experience of planning or scheduling for manufacturing, or hail from a broader materials and supply chain planning background.
The Production & Materials Planner will support manufacturing planning activities, while also collaborating closely with commercial stakeholders in regards to demand planning and SIOP.
Specific duties of the Production & Materials Planner include:
- Support the creation of production plans inline with master production schedule
- Support capacity planning activities
- Report generation in MS Excel, MRP/ERP
- Monitor inventory levels and advise procurement of shortages that could impact production plans
- Support tasks around SIOP and demand planning
- Process improvement activity - support the implementation of a new ERP system and optimise planning procedures
Production & Materials Planner applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience of supply chain, materials planning, production planning or production control in manufacturing or engineering
- MS Excel competency, and/or experience within an MRP/ERP system
- An interest in developing competence in SIOP, S&OP, demand planning or have previous experience here
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
