Job description

This role will be responsible for processing procurement data, including purchase orders, contracts & orderbook management using MRP. The role will also manage the RFQ process of material requirements for inbound sales enquiries.

The main duties of the buyer will include -

Negotiating deals to get the best value / cost reduction for the company.

Implementing strategic sourcing projects and process improvements.

Understanding supplier KPIs, SLAs, and T & Cs'.

Use appropriate data to make key business decisions.

Support Category Strategies for each area of responsibility

Identify and drive cost reduction across the business.

Identify potential new suppliers and build relationships.

Stakeholder management with internal functions across the business.

Developing and improving procurement processes.

The ideal candiate for the role will have -

Experience within a manufacturing environment desirable

Proficiency in MS Office

Demonstrable procurement experience and good negotiation skills.

Technical understanding.

Experience in building and maintaining supplier relationships.

Demonstrable ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills.

Knowledge/use of ERP/MRP systems
