Job description

My client is in search of a Buyer to bolster their team and facilitate substantial business expansion. The buyer will be responsible for owning given commodity groups across a selection of external suppliers as well as being involved with other of their facilities across the globe to ensure a coordinated approach to our supply chain.

Roles & Responsibilities that are required for this role:

Manage a selection of suppliers and given commodity groups (seat assemblies, plastics mouldings, badges)

Manage and own the sourcing and development activities of components for new model programmes to achieve key stage gates before handing over ownership to the Supply Chain Team for ongoing production.

Develop a strategy for their commodities ensuring best value and quickest and most suitable sources for new model development programmes.

Evaluate cost data and quotation analyses for supplier selections.

Develop and maintain expert knowledge of their commodity's global supply market and ensure a suitable knowledge base is maintained for the company.

Key skills required for this role:

Basic understanding of engineering and low volume production methods would be advantageous.

Experience within an automotive or motorcycle industry.

Sourcing and negotiation experience and supplier relationship management.
