Job description

A global technology and production engineering seeking to recruit for a multiple Buyers based in Merthyr Tydfil on a full-time permanent basis.

These Buyer roles will be responsible for working across the Supply Chain team ensuring on-time supply, delivery of materials and to support manufacturing delivery schedules

Salary - £25000 - £33000 (DOE) + bonus + benefits

Location - Merthyr Tydfil

Key responsibilities for the Buyer role includes and not limited to:

• Place PO's with suppliers using Oracle, ensuring budget forecast visibility and invoice compliance
• Expedite supply of materials and manage supplier order books
• Prioritise delivery of materials with suppliers to ensure sufficient supply is available to meet programme schedules
• Ensure the systems are fully populated to allow purchasing of materials to be managed via MRP
• Manage suppliers' performance ensuring metrics are maintained and corrective actions are carried out
• Develop relationships with the suppliers over the long term
• Formulate requests for quotes for suppliers and negotiate price and lead-times with suppliers
• Prepare costings for bid and budget forecast work and maintain databases for pricing look up, and ensure material cost transfers are completed on time
• Ensure full documentation is completed on time to schedules provided by senior management
• Where applicable audit owned-stock holdings at sub-contractors and suppliers

Key skills and experience required for Buyer role includes:

• Experience as a Buyer capacity dealing with engineering raw material and component suppliers
• Experience in placing and managing purchase orders
• Experience in working with an MRP system to manage procurement and inventory
• Negotiation and cost management experience
• Experience in supplier management
