Compliance import & export manager
My client are a global organisation based on the outskirts of Southampton who are currenetly looking for someone to report directly in to the head of distribution and manage the customs & compliance within the business.
This key role will be responsible for leading excellence in customs management and compliance to our customers whilst ensuring that the provision of this service is fully compliant with HMRC requirements and other relevant bodies.
Location - Outskirts of Southampton

The roles and responsibilities of the role will be -
Define and manage the implementation of a programme to achieve Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation and ensure that all Customs Activity performed by all departments within the company is to the defined standard.
Effectively manage the Customs import and export activity to ensure adherence with HMRC procedures and customers' instructions.
Support the wider business and provide direction by being the in-house export / import expert
Validation of MSS report against all imports / exports entries to ensure accuracy of data on a monthly basis.
Define the appropriate Standard Operating Procedures aligned to AEO standard for all import and export activities including IPR.
Constant review of all aspects related to Customs Clearance relevant to Brexit, thus ensuring adherence to Customs regulations.
Manage awareness of procedural changes across all departments in relation to Custom Clearance procedures - post Brexit.
Ensuring that all necessary Custom Clearance processes post Brexit are implemented accurately and on time.
Manage all aspects of Inward Processing including liaising with HMRC and post Brexit amendments.
The ideal candidate for the role will have -
Ideally be educated to Degree/HND level and hold a professional qualification in Customs Import/Export or International Trade.
Background within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain and have proven experience in a Customs Compliance/Import/Export/Shipping role.
Knowledge of AEO is essential for this role together with a proven track record of standards implementation.
You will have a strong commercial awareness, excellent organisational ability and be results orientated. Previous supervisory experience will be essential.
You will also have a comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft packages with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
