Job description

The role of the buyer will be to source products/components for my client liaising with manufacturing and engineering departments.

Location - Near Worthing

Salary - up to £33k plus benefits

The responsibilities of the buyer will be to -

Act on MRP recommendations, placing orders with an approved supply base.

Monitor the quality, performance, and cost to ensure that contracts continue to deliver maximum overall value.

Expedite material to the "point of use" and respond quickly to operational issues.

Implement and manage the effective dates of engineering changes

Own records of Import and Export

Perform regular order book consolidations/commitment/lead time/safety stock and liability reviews and regularly audit supplier buffer stocks.

The ideal candidate for the role will have -

Good knowledge of the manufacturing market

Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques

High level of computer literacy and data analysis (Microsoft products, particularly Excel)

Experience of operating within a lean manufacturing environment.

Experience in the procurement and project management of manufacturing commodities

Experience in sourcing, development, contract negotiation, implementation
