Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join and manage a growing team with regular international travel. The Global Supply Chain Manager will liaise closely between the engineering and purchasing functions and a principal international CEM to ensure consistent and economic deliveries of hardware.
Role - Global Supply Chain Manager
Type - Full time permanent
Location - Saffron Walden, Essex (with regular international travel)
Salary - £50k - £60k (DOE) + benefits
Key roles and responsibilities for the Global Supply Chain Manager role include and are not limited to:
- Liaise closely with suppliers, assembly houses and customers.
- Maintain effective communication with all key internal and external stakeholders
- Provide feedback from the international CEM to optimise product cost and flow.
- Monitor costings and work closely with existing suppliers to achieve cost savings where possible.
- Assist with selection of new suppliers and vendors and maintain effective communication with those selected.
- Review supply risks and pre-prepare plans to further reduce supply risk.
- Global communications with international vendors and auditing where required.
- Communicate forecasts and plans and coordinate efforts to make them achievable
- Initiate the Purchase Orders process and crosscheck invoice amounts for payment.
- Ensure materials are available for all pre-production builds, and plans are in place in line with any production ramp up plans.
- Attend customer meetings to review long term business and ongoing strategy.
- Establish all the logistical elements of packaging, transport regulations and handling of all domestic and international shipments - import or export.
- Regular UK and International travel will be required.
- Conduct and assist with internal quality audits as required.
Key skills and experience required for the Global Supply Chain Manager job applicant include and are not limited to:
- Understanding of modern electronic assembly processes and procedures
- Strong familiarity with mechanical drawings and mechanical production processes.
- Experience and knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Proficiency in ERP / MRP systems & Excel.
- Experience with supplier selection and price negotiation
- Strong communication skills supporting an ability to communicate key technical information between internal and external stakeholders.
