Job description
Defence technology business require a Senior Trade Compliance Manager. A "hands-on" and strategic role, applicants need trade compliance experience within a defence environment and have expert knowledge of associated regulations and procedures.
Working closely with the Head of Trade Compliance, the Senior Trade Compliance Manager will develop/refine processes wile providing an effective and compliant global trade offering to the business. Supported by a team of 2 Co-ordinators, the Senior Trade Compliance Manager will help lead all trade compliance (import, export control, customs) activities for the business.
Specific duties of the Senior Trade Compliance Manager:
- Provide counsel to stakeholders in regards to trade compliance regulations; UK, US (EAR and ITAR)
- Introduce/refine/develop trade compliance processes, tools, systems and mechanisms
- "hands-on" trade compliance tasks such as applying for export licenses
- Support projects and programmes in regards to; control list classification, customs classifications etc
- Coordinate and lead internal audits into processes
Senior Trade Compliance Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Trade compliance and/or export control experience gained within a defence business
- Deep knowledge of regulations and processes of UK/US export control - ITAR, EAR etc,
- The ability to create process/policy/procedure, and have stakeholders follow them
- Comfortable with "operational" tasks -export license applications, preparing import/export documents
- Comfortable with a hybrid working pattern
