Job description
A global leading defence business are currently recruiting for a Trade / Export Compliance Officer based in Buckinghamshire area on a fulltime permanent (hybrid working).
Role - Trade Compliance Officer / Export Compliance Officer
Type - Permanent
Location - Buckinghamshire (hybrid working)
Salary - up to C.£50,000 (DOE) + benefits
Key responsibilities for Trade Compliance Officer / Export Compliance Officer and will not be limited to:
- Timely processing of UK export licencing applications including OGELs, OIELs, and SIELs.
- Interface with UK authorities on licence applications/queries (HMRC/BIS/ECJU).
- Monitor applicable regulations for changes to embargoed and sanctioned countries and parties and the wider regulatory environment, understanding their impact to business.
- Provision of training with the Export Compliance Manager to ensure that key personnel are fully aware of their responsibilities in respect of import and export controls including ITAR.
- Act as a mentor/coach to new and inexperienced team members.
- Working with the business to ensure UK defence requirements and exhibition clearances are in place to meet business requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all export transactions on the group Export Control Database.
- Overall accountability of internal policies and procedures relating to import/export compliance, ITAR, EAR, and Dual Use regulations, ensuring business adherence where applicable.
- Lead internal and external compliance audits working with the Export Compliance Manager.
- Support internal and external parties with applications and management of US export authorisations, TAAs, MLAs, and licences.
- Liaising with internal and external customers/agencies to ensure trade compliance and allow business objectives to be met in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
Key skills and experience required for Trade Compliance Officer / Export Compliance Officer job applicant and will not be limited to:
- Proven experience within a Trade / Export Compliance related role, Aerospace/Defence sector is preferred
- A solid understand of UK & US Export control including ITAR/EAR regulations
- Eligibility to gain UK SC clearance - UK Eyes only.
