My client have a fantastic opportunity for a warehouse shift manager to join them on a permanent basis.


Hands on management experience

The Job

As an experienced warehouse/operational manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a designated shift, managing the day-to-day running of the Goods-in operation along with the development and training plans for all leaders, lead operators, operators and temporary staff assigned to the department. Providing appropriate management control through efficient planning, organisation control and communication to ensure all KPI's and targets in relation to service, productivity and performance are achieved or exceeded

Reporting directly to the Goods-in Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and productive working of a designated shift. Working to achieve operational KPI's and meet tight deadlines, the Shift Manager will have previous supervisory and man-management experience in a fast paced, manual warehousing environment. With responsibility of a multi-lingual workforce of both full time and agency staff, candidates will have the ability to lead by example, exercising best practice in all areas of the function, including safe MHE use.

As a strong communicator, candidates will have excellent people skills that will help enhance, develop and motivate the shift team. Focusing on continuous improvement and effective use of resources, the Shift Manager will also provide coaching and tailored development, designing and implementing 1-2-1 appraisals and reviews as appropriate. Equally maximising systems and resources to achieve targets and deadlines by fostering an efficient inter-departmental collaboration.

Experience using or managing MHE fleets

Experience required -

Strong communication skills

Strong supervisory and man management skills

Methodical and structured approach

Good level of numeracy and literacy.
