My client are a manufacturing business based in southampton who are currenetly looking for a materials controller to join them on a permanent basis.
The role of the material planner will be to ensure the on-time supply of purchased and in-house manufactured parts to support the manufacturing plan. The role of the material planner will involve key stakeholder management.
Location - Southampton
Salary - £25 - 29k dependant on experience
The roles and responsibilities of the material controller will be -
Review, release and maintain work orders and sub-contracted operations.
Ensuring parts, both purchased and in-house manufactured, are available when required to support the manufacturing plan.
Identifying when delays may affect the manufacturing plan and communicating to stakeholders.
Expediting of procured and in-house manufactured parts.
Reporting on supply and demand.
Attending and contributing to Material Availability and WIP reviews.
Return faulty parts to the Vendor and manage them back into Leonardo.
Delivery of parts kits to and from the line.
The ideal candidate for the role of the material planner will have -
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
Good data retention.
Ability to understand material flow in mutli-level Bill of Materials.
Understanding of the fundamentals of MRP.
Efficient organising of own workload.
Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
