The Job

A quasi-public sector utilities organisation require a Contract Management specialist. Responsible for driving best practice Contract Management strategies, applicants need to be subject matter experts in Commercial Contract Management.

The Contract Management Centre of Excellence Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing best practice Contract Management strategies across the organisation, and ensuring consistency in application. The job holder will develop a Contract Management framework and associated policies, procedures, tools and templates. The Contract Management Centre of Excellence Manager will train and provide guidance to operational Contract Managers, and ensure this knowledge is disseminated to contract owners.

Specific duties of the Contract Management Centre of Excellence Manager include:

  • Develop Contract Management best practice framework, policies, procedures, tools, and templates etc.
  • Engage key stakeholders and procurement colleagues to drive the development of best practice
  • Provide training and on-going advice/guidance to Contract Manages / Contract Owners
  • Develop and implement governance and monitoring mechanisms in regards to contract management
  • Develop Contract Management technology strategy
  • Support broader procurement department objectives and strategies

Contract Management Centre of Excellence Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Contract Management professional, with both operational and strategic expertise
  • Excellent soft-skills and stakeholder engagement ability, taking them on the contract management journey
  • The ability to set strategy and compose policies, procedures and user-guides for contract management
  • The ability to train, engage and educate procurement and contract management colleagues
  • Procurement or Contract management qualification - MCIPS, IACCM etc. desirable
  • Knowledge of contract lifecycle management technology solutions
