Buyer

A global manufacturing business require a Buyer. Applicants need procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering, and ideally have previous exposure to NPI.

The Buyer will join a team of Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. The role will focus on the procurement of direct materials for new and existing product ranges. The Technical Buyer will at times, act as a link between engineering and the supply chain.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

• Supply market intelligence, supplier relationship and supplier development activities
• Act as procurement representative for the NPI process
• Strategic sourcing activities - supplier evaluation, run tenders, negotiate and award
• Collaborate with engineering to investigate new sources of supply, technology, material or manufacturing methods
• Work with Procurement Manager to improve procurement processes

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Procurement experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
• Previous exposure to NPI
• Ability to maintain and improve key supplier relationships
• Ability to negotiate and conduct supplier assessment activities
• Strategic sourcing experience
