Key responsibilities for Category Manager and will not be limited to:
- Manage, mentor and support a team of Procurement Category Specialists.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply market and ensure suitable knowledge base is maintained for the company.
- Help their team develop a strategy for their commodities ensuring best value, quickest and most suitable sources for new model development programmes.
- Perform category management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract performance and risk management through or with their team
- Analyse supplier resources to ensure continued development support from our suppliers with their team members.
- Identify cost saving opportunities and developing a strategy through VE or negotiations with their team members.
- Support and mentor their team through difficult negotiations and supply concerns particularly during the development phase of new parts through to approvals and build deliveries.
- Preparation of reports and presentations for senior management meetings for their respective categories /commodities.
- Help to create, review, and challenge processes within the department and company to ensure it is value-added.
- From time to time, represent the department in high level internal and external meetings.
- Conduct regular workload reviews with individual team members & regular meetings with the team.

- Multi-tasking experience and flexibility to address immediate priorities and still manage deadlines with longer-term projects and strategic initiatives.
- Extensive experience within commodity Management experience within a manufacturing organisation.
