Job description
Our client, a prominent player in it's industry, is seeking an Electronics Buyer to join their permanent team. This role, situated within the procurement department, specifically focuses on managing parts, such as batteries, motors, and control modules. You will report to the Procurement Manager and will have no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing purchasing strategies to secure a flexible supply chain, foster good supplier relationships, and ensure best value
- Updating and negotiating contracts with suppliers, including terms related to prices, lead times, payment, and service levels
- Developing a long-term purchasing strategy for the electronics category
- Conducting various analyses, including supply market trend analysis, spend analysis, and stock level analysis
- Collaborating with the NPI cross-functional project team and engaging strategic procurement and suppliers in project activities
- Managing sourcing, RFI, RFP, RFQ, and supplier selection processes
- Ensuring timely delivery of tasks by suppliers and setting up all item information in the ERP system
- Analysing raw material price indices and advising on cost improvements
- Building strong supplier relationships to enhance pricing and quality of services
- Monitoring procurement risks and developing corrective actions to resolve issues
Job Requirements:
- Category management experience in the manufacturing industry
- Experience in sourcing electronic components and working in cross-functional teams to develop PCBAs
- Contract management experience
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Excel for data analysis
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings
- Excellent communication and attention
