Barclay Meade and the Gattaca Group welcomes Matthew Wragg as CEO
Matthew Wragg has been appointed to succeed Kevin Freeguard as Chief Executive Officer and will take over as CEO from 1 April 2022.
Matthew is currently Chief Customer Officer and has been with Gattaca for over 20 years, as an integral part of the organisation, he brings substantial knowledge of the recruitment industry and a deep understanding of Gattaca.
Having been with the Group since June 2017 and served under two CEOs, it has also been agreed that Chief Financial Officer, Salar Farzad will leave Gattaca at the same time, stepping down from the Board at the end of March and leaving Gattaca at the end of April 2022.
In line with the Group’s succession plan, Oliver Whittaker will succeed him as CFO. Oliver joined Gattaca in 2017 as Group Director of Financial Planning and has been instrumental in his support of our Group ambitions.
Of his nomination to CEO, Matthew Wragg said:
I would like to personally thank Kevin and Salar for their steadfast leadership, including during the challenges of the pandemic. They have been incredibly influential to the way the business has developed throughout this time, and many of these lessons I will take forward in my role.
I’d also like to express my thanks to the board and the wider business for their nomination and consistent support. In particular, having had the opportunity to work closely with Oliver over the last five years I cannot think of a better partner to work alongside me as CFO.
We frequently refer to Gattaca as a family and I have been privileged to call the Group home for two decades now. It is with the backing of my colleagues and family that I enter this new chapter, determined to bring to life our mission; to deliver a service that is so trusted that our clients, candidates, colleagues and suppliers recommend us without hesitation.
