The Job

A leading international aerospace and defence manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join their very successful and expanding business on a permanent basis.

The Contracts Manager will be responsible to provide commercial support within specified market with a thorough understanding of the market and customer accounts. Managing existing contracts and proposals for new business and wider business on commercial topics.

Location - Uxbridge, Middlesex

Type - Permanent

Salary - £40,000 - £55,000

The key roles and responsibilities of the Contracts Manager role and not be limited to:

  • Structure and negotiation of new business deals contributing to complex major bids/tenders and inputting on customer terms & conditions providing guidance to the sales team for the best commercial outcome
  • Contract Management. Monitors and ensures the successful delivery of business in accordance with the contractual terms. Activities include leading and facilitating in Contract Baseline Reviews (CBR) and provision of advice and guidance relating the delivery of business in accordance with its contractual terms
  • Contract Interpretation / Dispute Resolution. Guides the business in its understanding of what our contractual commitments are and if current activities comply. Advises approach and participates in discussions where customer believes that we are not fulfilling our obligations, participating in formal dispute resolution /negotiations and providing recommendations for the resolution of dispute situations.
  • Share process and approaches with the business to maintain compliance to commercial standards and policy
  • Provides guidance, assistance and training to more junior members of staff
  • Business Risk. Identification, management and mitigation. Judges acceptability of overall risk level of deal and mitigating options, helping business devise sensible steps to address through appropriate contract terms or contract management, ensuring all known issues are discussed

Key skills and experience required for Contracts Manager role and not limited to:

  • Proven experience within a Commercial and/or Contract management orientated role
  • Working knowledge of contracts and standard contracting terms for supply of goods and services
  • Eligible to gain UK SC Clearance
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
