My client are global organisation who are currenetly looking for a demand planner to join them on a 12 month maternity cover.


Strong experience in a forecasting role

The Job

The role of the demand planner will be responsible for the supply of finished goods for sale encompassing the development and maintenance of the Demand Plan.

The roles and responsibilities of the demand planner will be -

Collaboration with internal partners - Sales, Marketing, Finance, Purchasing. The frequency of the meetings to be established to suit the relevant area but as a minimum on a monthly basis.

Under SAP, there will be a requirement to manage amendments to the forecasts on a weekly basis.

Development and management of Customer Collaboration agendas that serve to facilitate optimal forecasting.

Analysis of all external data pertinent to the forecasting process to include market trends, seasonality and other macro-economic factors.

Use and maintenance of statistical modelling tools

Continuous improvement of forecasting techniques, method and approach.

Conduct current and future forecasting analysis, ensuring processes and methods are followed. Provision of forecasts on a 2 year projected basis.

Involvement in key business projects to include NPD, product re-launches, brand extensions, product de-lists and any other initiatives that will involve forecasting.

Playing a pivotal role in the adaptation and improvement of BluePlanner and ad-hoc work in getting the financial forecast for the business to desired levels.

Proactively leading, facilitating, re-engineering best practices to drive improvement in forecast accuracy through collaboration and consensus with all relevant parties.

Prepare and report on forecast accuracy measurements to the Planning Manager

Monitor SKU trends and provide bi-annual recommendation to the Planning Manager for rationalisation initiatives.

Responsible for the information and data preparation in and the leading of the Forecast Review Meetings, S&OP meetings and other associated meetings.

The ideal candidate for the role will have -

Familiarity with advanced planning technology and decision-support tools.

Demonstrated ability to use analytical and statistical models to analyse and prepare demand management plans for a complex number of products and customers.

Ability to cut through and manage high volume, complex amounts of data.

Proven ability to develop and lead Customer & Partner collaboration agendas that serve the company's objectives on forecasting.

Demonstrated ability to work and where appropriate, lead in a cross functional, team oriented environment.

Experience of 2+ years forecasting and market analysis

Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems that may not have one answer

Outstanding analytical and reasoning skills.

Ability to interact and develop structures of communication that are appropriate to the audience.

Very good understanding of Supply Chain processes, issues and industry practice in Demand & Availability Planning.

Ability to remain focused and calm with a dynamic, changing product portfolio that requires daily management.

Dynamic and forward thinking with ability to take the initiative in all areas of the role and drive for outstanding results.

Strong relationship building skills.

Excellent general IT literacy and ability
