Introduction

My client are a global manufacturing organisation who specialise in the manufacturing and design of a high end product and are looking for a production control lead to join them on a permanent basis.

Important

Strong scheduling skills within a technical environment (SAP desirable)

The Job

The role of the production lead will be responsible for scheduling and maintaining a consistent and efficient supply of materials to the manufacturing department within production plans, maintain stock accuracy at all times, and lead a small team of goods in/out packers.

Location - South London

Salaray - £40 - 50k plus competative benefits

The roles and responsibilities of the the production lead will be -

Responsible for all Repeaters, kitting plan, shortages clearance & issuing the material into the shop floor. (dependant on area of responsibility)

Monitor all cycle count programs as per the classifications and ensure consistency, accuracy and identify all operational problems in inventory counts.

Monitor the work of all inventory control personnel and ensure an achievement of all objectives as per the production plan and provide improvements where required.

Train employees and staff in all inventory control processes in accordance with the manual and update the processes if required, record the training in the metrics and follow up on competency

Develop, mentor, and coach, the operations workforce by recognizing productivity, quality, and professional growth

Demonstrate effective communication with the Materials manager and make recommendations when required - innovation

Manage inventory transactions and provide required feedback to team on a weekly basis.

Maintain the department KPI and report to the Materials manager weekly and update the KPI visual management board

Ensure all kitting is in line with the MRP demand and discuss with production daily with regards to any shortages

The ideal candidate for the role will

Be able to track and investigate any quality or traceability requirements using the MRP system

Participate in departmental projects

SAP User for WM and MM to advance level, capable of leading a team and able to make decisions related to the job using MRP messages

Strong stakeholder management

Proven experience within supply chain and production management
