A global technology and production engineering business seek an experienced Demand Planner to join their large supply chain division on a permanent basis.


Proven experience as a Demand Planner or similiar forecasting role.

The Job

Joining a large-scale international manufacturer, this Demand Planner will join an established supply chain division with opportunity for personal career progression. The Demand Planner will provide a stable, accurate demand plan using historic demand data and market intelligence, and together with appropriate stock levels to achieve, target customer service levels and optimised inventory in line with business objectives.

Key responsibilities for Demand Planner job role and not be limited to:

  • Develop demand forecast and demand plan using statistical analysis
  • Work with Product Support Manager, Supply Planning and Sales team to integrate market intelligence into the forecasts
  • Support quarterly forecast review per program
  • Pro-activity complete in depth data analysis to identify areas of concern and propose recommendations for improvement
  • Scenario planning : modelling potential outcomes
  • Measure and report forecast accuracy and variance
  • Lead root-cause analysis into major forecast variances
  • Capture alerts and weak signals where forecasts deviate from initial assumptions
  • Validate forecast, share and review with supply planning team and operations
  • Communicate to all levels of the business major changes to the demand plan
  • Identify, test and implement improvement initiatives to the demand planning process
  • Manage data within Forecasting tool to ensure accuracy
  • Optimise inventory through sound and stable demand plans

Key skills and experience required for Demand Planner role and not be limited to:

  • Proven experience as a Demand Planner
  • Strong understanding of forecasting and life cycle management
  • Forecasting tool and ERP / SAP system experience
  • Supply chain principles
  • Analytical skills and data manipulation
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
