This role is an excellent opportunity to utilise a broad range of skills and will suit candidates with relevant commercial and analytical experience working on a broad range of strategic projects.

What will this role involve?

Obtaining, cleansing and analysing large and complex data files to provide insight on our historical spend as well as identifying opportunities in cost and operational efficiency using historic and forecast information;

Leading and supporting stakeholder (project) meetings and presenting findings in front of stakeholder group, which may involve senior level commercial and operational managers to drive decision making;

Developing and recommending appropriate commercial models and pricing templates/ bid sheets for each sourcing initiative either by using existing templates or creating new models working closely with the project team;

Supporting the development of sourcing recommendations, by providing commercial analysis of final costs verses budgets and baseline outlined in sourcing strategy, and evidencing what additional business value has been enabled;

Financial analysis to support investment decisions including project finance/ cashflow modelling (e.g. major and innovative projects) to inform commercial strategy.

Demonstrating a thirst for knowledge to understand the macro and micro trends in the wider supply chain and applying these to commercial strategy;

Taking ownership for our commercial data including proactively cleansing our historic and forecast data to ensure it is as accurate as possible and available to the wider team through our commercial tools;

Regularly engaging with stakeholders to elicit information and define scope of analysis and providing support to internal and external (supplier) meetings to explain data analysis as requested;

Embracing the latest technologies to support analytics (e.g. Qlik, Tableau) to drive consistency and efficiency in delivery;

Undertaking a key role in the strategical planning process within commercial including analytical support to enable project forecasting and prioritisation including recommendations to Commercial Business Partners of future opportunity areas;

Be seen as a leader amongst the wider team of analysts providing guidance, support and coaching to further the capability of the collective;

Be seen a subject matter expert in the wider commercial team providing guidance, support and coaching to further the capability of the collective;

Meeting time, cost and quality milestones at all times with proactive risk escalation to prevent any potential issues;

Proactively identify further opportunities for the analyst team to support the commercial process and embrace these new opportunities;

What are we looking for?

This role requires a self-starter with a proven strong analytical mind set, proven ability to work well under pressure and an ability to productively deal with ambiguity. In addition, the successful candidate must possess advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities as well as either a relevant degree or some relevant commercial experience; You will be self-sufficient, hold strong communication/stakeholder engagement skills, and be able to prioritise/multitask to produce required deliverables efficiently. Key to this role is also the ability to isolate key issues and draw sound conclusions from various sources of information; An effective senior commercial analyst will already have a good understanding of a commercial business and experience with business analysis techniques.
