My client are a global manufacturing organisation who are currently looking for a supply chain controller to join them on a permanent basis.
This role will manage on time delivery of customer orders by managing the demand planning, material planning and procurement of a nominated product range.
Location - Portsmouth
Salary - up to £31k plus benefits
The roles and responsibilities for this role will be to -
Manage all aspects of the SAP Sales order book for the module to which they are aligned.
Communicate up to date shipment information to the g sales offices and be a main contact for sales offices for Lead time and availability queries
Using the MRP system to plan the manufacture/purchase of the materials and components necessary to build the demand orders.
Manage the planning data held in the SAP system ensuring parameters accurately reflect current conditions.
Provide weekly machining and manufacturing schedules to build demand orders in line with the delivery date and within the capacity constraints.
Monitor & progress suppliers ensuring materials and parts are received on time in line with build schedules and customer commitments.
Ensure Finished Goods stocking levels are sufficient to meet customer demand, and to recommend stock holding levels based on changing demand conditions.
Manage raw materials, piece parts, kanban and WIP inventory levels to maximise availability whilst minimising holding cost and driving down obsolescence levels.
Support the Manufacturing module attending the daily stand up meetings.
The ideal candidate for this role will be -
Demonstrable success and 2-3 years experience in a Supply Chain / Purchasing role.
Production and material planning systems to include MRP , Master Scheduling, Demand Forecasting, production Scheduling and Inventory Management .
Good knowledge of Manufacturing Computer systems ideally including SAP.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and planning methods.
Purchasing and Commercial Awareness.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Educated to HNC/HND or equivalent in either a Manufacturing, Engineering or Business discipline or vocational specific qualification (e.g. IOM Diploma in Production and Operations management, CIPS Foundation / Graduate Diploma)
