Bid Manager - Defence

Location: Tyne& Wear

Are you ready to take ownership of high-impact bid campaigns in the defence and maritime sector? Our client, a global leader in advanced maritime technology, are now looking for a Bid Manager to work in the Naval UK Global Sales Team. This is a key role, where you'll collaborate across engineering, procurement, and commercial teams to deliver compelling, competitive, and profitable bids.

What You'll Do

As Bid Manager, you'll be at the heart of our sales and delivery efforts, overseeing the full lifecycle of OEM bid submissions. You'll be responsible for:

  • Preparing and updating cost schedules and bid documentation in line with company processes
  • Leading bid planning and review meetings with internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the development of innovative, cost-effective product solutions
  • Managing cross-functional communication across Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Projects
  • Providing accurate and up-to-date costing information to support sales efforts
  • Working with technical drawings and documents to finalise bids using dedicated software
  • Standardising bid processes and maintaining accurate data records

What We're Looking For

  • A degree-qualified professional with a proven track record in managing sales campaigns and bid submissions
  • Strong project management, communication and negotiation skills
  • A solid engineering background, with the ability to understand and interpret technical information
  • Familiarity with the marine industry, especially naval markets and shipbuilding practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and business software tools
  • Right to work in the UK (BPSS and potentially additional MOD security clearance required)
