Job description

An international manufacturer requires a Materials Planner. Applicants need materials planning, production planning or supply chain planning skills, have experience of managing suppliers, and literacy in MS Excel, MRP/ERP

The Materials Planner will be responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw materials, components and packaging liaising with intercompany colleagues and external suppliers. Now is an exciting time to join the supply chain function as they prepare to go-live with a new MRP/ERP system.

Specific duties of the Materials Planner include:

• Purchasing, Planning and Materials Scheduling activities
• Managing suppliers
• Monitoring of inventory levels
• Production Planning
• Assist in implementation and go-live of new MRP system
• Liaison with colleagues across the broader supply chain team; logistics, warehouse etc.

Materials Planner applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Production Planning, Materials Planning, Materials Control or Supply Chain Planning experience
• Experience of managing suppliers or purchasing expertise
• Problem solving skills
• Out-going, positive and proactive - capable of being a senior person within the team
• Experience in the use of MRP/ERP, and/or MS Excel
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
