Senior Buyer

Southwark

We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Buyer to join our dynamic Procurement and Supply Chain team. This role will see you at the forefront of Pre-tender and Tender Purchasing of materials, working on prestigious projects within construction and major infrastructure industry. Your expertise will be crucial in managing site procurement, commercial project tendering, and establishing national supply contracts.

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience in a construction company commercial role
• Proven experience in a Buyer/Purchasing role
• A keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset
• Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Proficiency in I.T.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking high-value project sections from sourcing to contract development
• Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to deliver cost-saving, value-engineered solutions
• Managing major supplier accounts the client procedures
• Collaborating across departments to emphasize procurement priorities
• Ensuring a continued stock of high-risk products
• Rationalizing the UK supplier base for strategic leverage
• Maintaining and updating the European Purchasing database with UK orders and supplier developments
