The Role

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Purchasing Engineer to join BAE Systems for a 10 month contract.

You would:

• Be working as a member of the Procurement team representing the Procurement Function in Critical Customer Reviews.

• Manage an Order Book on behalf of the Customer to drive critical requirements through the Supplier facing Buying Teams.

• Be the escalation point from the Customer into the Supplier Management Teams, to manage urgent adhoc requirements and performance improvements where needed.

• Be an escalation point for Procurement into the Customer & Supply Chain Teams to improve responsiveness.

• manage adherence to Governance, Policy and Processes to achieve compliance to customer, product, legal and business requirement.

• Support Tactical resolution of issues which are preventing a customer requirement from being deliveried.

Role Responsibilities:

• To interface effectively with Customer facing and Supplier facing Teams.
• Support the Project by managing Procurement requirements & responsibilities.
• Represent the Procurement Function in all Customer interactions and be the primary interface into the Supplier facing Teams.
• Analyse and provide Monthly Reports on Procurement Performance to support Delivery Director Reviews.
• Be responsible for approving and /or challenging Suppliers and Customers to ensure.

What BAE Systems are looking for, from you:

Essential Skills:

• Extensive Procurement experience, preferably in a high volume, fast paced aerospace or manufacturing market.
• Professional knowledge and understanding of Procurement and Supply Chain Management principles and practices including an understanding of the impact and implications of decisions made to stakeholders and suppliers.
• Working knowledge of Supply Chain orderbook management including raising Purchase Orders and managing them through to successful delivery

Security Requirements: SC & ITAR

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. In addition, this role involves direct and/or indirect access to ITAR Material which means there are restriction. The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
