Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel
Location: London
About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel to join a dynamic legal team, supporting a high-profile confidential M&A project involving multi-jurisdictional restructuring within BAT entities. This role requires a seasoned legal professional with strong M&A expertise to oversee due diligence, coordinate legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions, and support negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the legal due diligence process for the M&A project.
Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for legal counsel across different jurisdictions during due diligence.
Manage and coordinate legal queries, providing updates to Senior Counsel and escalating issues where necessary.
Collaborate with advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely project deliverables.
Support contract negotiations with suppliers and assist in finalising project documentation.
Skills & Experience Required:
UK-qualified lawyer with a minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience in an international law firm or as in-house counsel for a multinational company.
Extensive M&A experience, including managing complex due diligence processes.
Strong ability to identify risks, advise on structuring options, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Exceptional drafting skills with attention to detail.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
