Job description
Our client, a leading industrial, aerospace and defence manufacturing company, is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team. With expertise in supplying high technology anti-vibration and shock isolation mountings, illuminated aircraft cockpit instrument panels, display systems, and lightweight avionics racking, our client is at the forefront of innovation in the defence and aerospace sectors. This permanent role is based in Reading and will involve regular UK and some overseas travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Build and sustain good working relationships with existing and new clients
- Establish and understand client requirements and specifications through technical/commercial meetings
- Work closely with engineering, production, and suppliers to provide customers with the most appropriate technical and commercial solutions
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals and present these to clients
- Negotiate technical and commercial contracts
- Prepare monthly sales reports and forecasts
Job Requirements:
- Qualified electronics or electro-mechanical engineer
- Background in technical business development, preferably in the aerospace and defence market (training will be provided)
- Comfortable meeting new people and developing relationships with technical and commercial contacts
- Presentable and professional demeanour
- Enjoy travelling and meeting customers
