Job description
The Commercial Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial strategic decision making and analysis activities for the commercial side of our business. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial principles, experience in financial modelling, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and own robust financial models to support the strategic decision making of the business, including bid pricing models, investment evaluations and profitability analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial models, business rates and reports to support forecasting, budgeting, working capital and long-term planning.
- Support decision-making processes by providing financial insights and recommendations on potential initiatives, including inventory management and inventory reduction, warranty and debit note management.
- Provide guidance and support through preparation and presentation of regular reports and analysis on financial metrics to key stakeholders.
- Assist the finance and supply chain teams during both internal and external audits.
- Provide cover across the two teams on an adhoc basis.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a financial analyst, preferably in a commercial or business-focused role.
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, sensitivity analysis and reporting, including the creation of charts and tables.
- Sound understanding of the balance sheet, profit & loss, and cash flow statements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal, written and formal presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial data in a simple way to key stakeholders.
- You will have a financial qualification/background with a practical financial career experience, with a focus on financial modelling.
