Job description

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic Finance Manager - Operations to play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and performance of the Business, helping to drive change and continuous improvement throughout all areas of the business. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be at the core of our business, influencing a team of employees who deliver both Operational and Functional services across the sector. Your leadership will be crucial in integrating and driving the overall Performance Framework across the business, ensuring consistency and standardization in approach.

This role will be hybrid with 3 days on

As a strategic leader, you will manage a small team to provide high-level information and business analysis, directly contributing to the formulation of strategy, enhancement of operational performance, and execution of improvement plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Performance Leadership: Drive the implementation of performance frameworks across the business, with a focus on multi-functional collaboration that aligns with and supports our strategic objectives, operational performance, and improvement plans.

  • Change Management: Leverage your finance expertise to support and influence change programmes across the business, ensuring clear outcomes and continuous improvement.

  • Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with the Sales and Operations functions, serving as a key interface and conduit between the Finance Director and our Finance Capability Centres to ensure seamless integration and alignment.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with senior stakeholders, managers, and budget holders across functions to drive business change and improvements, fostering a culture of strategic alignment and continuous enhancement.

  • Strategic Decision Support: Provide critical support and due diligence for new business activities, ensuring that pricing proposals and strategic decisions align with both customer needs and shareholder value maximization.

  • Performance Improvement: Partner with Integrated Operations Directors and Senior Managers to further enhance performance, driving initiatives that deliver tangible, measurable improvements.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Influential Leadership: Demonstrated ability to proactively influence and lead within a complex, dynamic environment with a proactive and inquisitive nature.

  • Agility and Responsiveness: Proven experience in quickly adapting to and managing changing and challenging customer requirements.

  • Communication Excellence: Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders, simplifying challenges, and identifying opportunities.

  • Collaborative Mindset: Strong influencing skills with the capability to build and maintain effective relationships across multiple stakeholders.

  • Analytical Acumen: Expertise in analyzing, summarizing, and presenting management information to address complex business challenges and provide strategic recommendations.

Your Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
  • Experience supporting long-term, complex programs/projects.
  • High levels of political and cultural awareness.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a manufacturing company or large PLC environment.
  • Proven track record of driving program performance through integrated teams.
