Job description

Role - Senior Indirect Buyer / Category Buyer X2

Location - Barrow-in-Furness, (1 days onsite per week)

Type - Permanent

Salary - £40,000-£55,000 (DOE) + benefits

Key responsibilities of the Senior Indirect Buyer / Category Buyer role will include not be limited to:

• Undertaking proactive supplier management of key Service Providers including supplier relationship management, contract change, escalations, risk management and leading Governance forums
• Being involved at all stages of the project lifecycle starting with stakeholder and demand management, sourcing and tendering and contract negotiation
• Promptly addressing any escalations from internal business stakeholders
• Supporting a large-scale programme which will transform the way services are currently procured within the group. This will involve transition activity from incumbent suppliers to new providers and will require excellent stakeholder management and engagement
• You may have line management responsibility and there will be opportunities to deputise for the Senior Managers
• You will negotiate and agree contractual terms, pricing and service levels
• Perform elements of operational procurement such as requisition and invoice approval

Key skills and experience required for Senior Indirect Buyer / Category Buyer and not limited to:

• Experienced procurement professional within indirect / service-based procurement - ie Professional Services, Corporate Services, IT OR wider.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and supplier relationship management
• Able to travel to suppliers on a regular basis across the UK
• Ability to identify and develop solutions to problems
