Job description

Successful engineering business require a Buyer on a REMOTE basis. Applicants need operational, MRP/ERP purchasing experience gained within manufacturing engineering. Comfort with REMOTE working, and available immediately or with short notice.

The Buyer will join a team of REMOTE working Buyers and Senior Buyers, reporting to a Head of Procurement. The role will focus predominately on managing the supply chain against operational procurement metrics such as OTD/OTIF. The Buyer will work closely with the company MRP/ERP system and liaise with technical engineering stakeholders in Quality and Design.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing and successful business on a fully remote, permanent contract. This role would be ideally suited to someone who is immediately available or on a short notice period.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

  • Raising and expediting of purchase orders
  • Conduct supply market research and support assessment of potential new vendors
  • Monitor inventory and stock levels
  • Supply Chain Management against OTIF/OTD, cost, quality and delivery metrics.
  • Ownership of supplier data within MRP/ERP system
  • Support continuous improvement plans within the function

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering
  • Comfortable with technical procurement tasks, BOMs, engineering drawings, quality/production liaison
  • MRP/ERP literacy
  • An understanding or experience working within oil, gas or petrochemicals - highly desirable not essential
  • Comfortable working on a fully remote basis, and available immediately or with short notice period
