Job description
As a senior commercial manager, the post holder will oversee and manage contract negotiations and post contract commercial management for a sub-programme (sub-programme examples being professional services, a cohort or high value scheme) within the capital works programme. They will deliver the provision of a robust, efficient, effective, high quality, professional and well co-ordinated contract management service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and requirements ensuring alignment with the key priority activities of the programme.
The role will focus on supporting the delivery of continuous improvement through measurable efficiencies (cost and operational delivery) and providing valuable market insights.
The role will adapt over time in response to the changing needs of the programme and accordingly may involve line management, coaching and development of a sub- team, to deliver robust commercial contracts which ensure delivery at the optimum cost, maximising value.

Essential criteria
- Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area supported by professional qualifications e.g. MRICS, MCIPS.
Knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Subject matter expertise across a number of key areas relating to Contract Management; Evidence of post qualification experience in Construction or Professional Services with evidence of a Commercial and Contractual bias Extensive experience in a variety of Procurement and Contracting models and specifically in Construction NEC based contracting environments, using a range of reimbursement models. Demonstrable experience of working in a large infrastructure programme interfacing with project managers, planners, risk managers and project controls Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
