Job description

A large, global manufacturing business require a Junior Buyer / Buyer. Applicants need experience in a purchasing, supply chain or order management role within manufacturing or engineering. Previous exposure to SAP, would be advantageous.

The Junior Buyer / Buyer will report to a Procurement Manager and be responsible for owning the purchase order management process. The objective is to ensure continuity of supply to the manufacturing facility, manage supplier relationships, monitor inventory levels and own procurement data in the SAP MRP/ERP system.

Specific duties of the Junior Buyer / Buyer include:

• Raise purchase orders in SAP
• Supplier orderbook management and communication
• Manage suppliers against OTD/OTIF metrics
• Monitor and inventory levels
• Maintain procurement department data and BOMs in SAP

Junior Buyer / Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Experience as a Junior Buyer / Buyer, or in purchasing, supply chain, logistics or order management
• Familiarity with a manufacturing or engineering environment
• SAP experience
• Previous exposure to BOM would be desirable
• Motivated, self-starter
