Proven experience in a strategic sourcing role and a strong understanding of subcontract management, Defence and/or Aerospace industry preferred.
A global defence and infrastructure technology design, implementation and control business seek to recruit a Procurement Subcontract Manager on a permanent basis.
The Procurement Subcontract Manager will be responsible to provide to provide Subcontract Management support to Bids and Projects. It will involve all aspects to Subcontract Management from assessing the suppliers through Subcontract award to delivery and acceptance of the supplies and closure of the Subcontracts. The role will be responsible for ensuring the suppliers meet the terms and deliveries of their Subcontracts.
Role - Procurement Subcontract Manager - Defence
Location - Bristol (Hybrid working)
Salary - £65,000-£75,000 (DOE) + bonus + benefits
Key roles and responsibilities for Procurement Subcontract Manager and will not be limited to:
- To provide procurement governance and leadership within the Bid/Project Management business areas
- Provide senior Procurement leadership and management to business area for effective Life Cycle Management and to achieve delivery and margin for all associated projects
- The application of Procurement and Subcontract best practice expertise and process
- Selection and development of strategic suppliers/partners. Ownership and responsibility for supplier performance, relationships and the 'material' budget.
- Preparing, negotiating and implementing any partnership, subcontract, teaming or non-disclosure agreements ensuring that the Company is always fully protected commercially. Manage export applications/approvals, ITAR, TAA procedures and processes
- Manage a complex supply chain and support the Scope of Work creation to ensure that all Suppliers have an understood baseline and work package
- Project Manage new and existing Supply Chains ensuring that required outputs and schedules are completely understood throughout the programme.
- Awarded the agreed Sub Contract to the preferred supplier against clear achievable and measurable delivery objectives.
- Develop the Procurement Plan and support the Project Risk Management Plan
- Maintain the Sub Contract through the life of the project closing it when all milestone and deliveries have been received.
- Drive supply chain performance to achieve on time delivery objectives and ensure SAP accurately reflects latest position.
Key skills and experience required for Procurement Subcontract Manager job applicant and will not be limited to:
- Proven experience with a Procurement role with an understanding of subcontract management
- Ideally Defence or Aerospace background, will consider from all industries
- Excellent communication skills, written, spoken and presentations
