Job description

Successful global business requires a Buyer. Applicants need procurement experience as a Buyer ideally within manufacturing, be competent in the use of MS Excel, possess commercial acumen and an appreciation of contractual T&Cs.

The Buyer will join a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting to a Procurement Manager. There is a strong emphasis on supplier orderbook management, MS Excel and maintaining accurate data in the company MRP system.

Specific duties of the Buyer include:

  • Management of the purchase order process
  • Supplier orderbook management, own SOTIF metrics, ongoing supplier management and assessment
  • Liaison with other internal departments
  • Use of MS Excel (VLOOKUP) and MRP to manage inventory and forecast requirements
  • Support Procurement Manager with strategic department objectives

Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Purchasing, Procurement or Buyer experience
  • Familiarity with manufacturing would be advantageous, but not essential
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills, in particular competence with VLOOKUP function
  • Supplier management skills
  • Organised, detailed orientated and self-motivated
