Job description
A successful FMCG/manufacturing business requires a Junior Buyer. Applicants need previous experience in a purchasing or expediting focused role, be capable of managing stock levels and skilled in the use of MS Office.
This is an exciting end-to-end supply chain opportunity, and the Junior Buyer will support the business in providing a purchasing service to deliver goods on time and best possible price. The Junior Buyer will foster excellent relationships with internal colleagues, and external suppliers who could be based anywhere in the world.
Specific duties of the Junior Buyer include:
- Monitor stock levels through use of MS Excel and Stock Management Systems
- Management of purchase order process - raise, place and expedite
- Coordinate deliveries of products from supply partners to UK locations
- Supplier liaison, negotiation and performance monitoring
- Collaboration with other departments - Finance, Sales, Goods-in etc.
Junior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience in purchasing, logistics, supply chain, or expediting
- Experienced in the use of MS Office packages, and/or MRP/ERP, stock management systems etc
- Commercial flair/acumen
- Positive, self-starter and relationship builder
- Happy to work on-site in a central Southampton location
