Job description
Supporting the Supply Chain and Customs Supervisor to maintain a smooth and efficient supply chain and optimise customs processes. Taking ownership of inventory levels and ensuring sufficient supply for continuous production by regularly scheduling supplier deliveries in line with production requirements.
The roles and responsibilities for the role will be -
* Processing invoices for import/export customs brokerage, reconcile against services supplied.
* Manage and retain records of all import /export documentation signed commercial invoices, delivery notes, preference certificates, origin declarations etc.
* Manage relationship with preferred freight forwarder and clearing agent partners including keeping documentation up to date.
* To assist and carry out any actions regarding customs clearance such as providing customs clearance instructions to the nominated customs broker.
* Liaising with freight forwarders to avoid delays and ensure successful delivery.
* Being the operational contact point for all information related to the supplier, being responsible, accountable, consultable and informed.
* Reconcile monthly MSS report from HMRC against shipping documentation and record key data.
* Analysing and managing inventory stock and safety levels to lessen the inventory value and reach an optimal inventory position while maintaining production continuity. Support the Investigation of discrepancies between computer stock and instigate corrective action necessary.
* Determine and prioritise daily/weekly requirements by obtaining and analysing information, build programme variance, balance stock levels against production requirements receiving facility/supply constraints, internal/external disputes, quality/packaging etc.
* To support the Change Request process whilst taking into consideration the business needs. Participating in the implementation of modifications, monitoring new part introduction and 'End-of-life' plans ensuring change points are captured.
* Resolving any shipping issues which may require amended documentation, stock investigation and notification to nominated customs broker for audit and/or post entry action.
* Support Supply Chain and Customs Supervisor with preparations for any HMRC audits.
* Providing and correcting export documentation such as commercial invoices for freight forwarders and customs agents as required.
* Understand the Preferential Origin determination process, and support in an advisory role.
Auditing product commodity codes, product origin calculations, and evidence storage against HMRC standards. Support change request process affecting commodity codes, origins, incoterms and supply routes.
