Job description

The role of the buyer will be reponsibile for ensuring that goods and services are purchased from suppliers to the required specification and the required quantity, delivery date and lowest total cost of acquisition to the business.

Location - Portsmouth

Salary - Competative plus benefits

Role repsonsibilities for the Senior buyer will be to -

Define & develop a key supplier base capable of supporting all business requirements for purchased components and services

Negotiate prices and build long term collaborative relationships that ensure continuity of supply

Actively form strong partnerships with key long term strategic suppliers, using own relationship management skills and drawing upon improvement and development initiatives as needed.

Place orders and expedite goods and services

Attend and participate in project meetings and ensure product knowledge is communicated to key stakeholders. You will also liaise with Engineering, customers and Finance

Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information to ensure on-time deliveries

Ideal caniddate for the role will have -

Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application

5 + years Supply Chain experience

Strong analytical skills

Planning and organisational skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Flexible work schedule
