Job description

Global engineering business require a Strategic Buyer. Applicants need strategic and operational procurement expertise, gained within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Hybrid working options available.

The Strategic Buyer will work within a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers reporting into a Supply Chain Manager. Hybrid working options are available.

Specific duties of the Strategic Buyer include:

• Supply market intelligence activities in regards to mechanical or electronic supply chains
• Supplier selection, development and management activities
• Develop supply chain risk mitigation strategies
• Operational purchasing and day-to-ay supplier management in accordance with MRP, OTD, OTIF etc.
• Collaboration with colleagues in - quality, engineering, production

Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Procurement experience within manufacturing or engineering
• Previous experience of selecting, managing and developing suppliers
• Ability to foster strong and collaborative relationships with key suppliers/subcontractors
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Ability to balance strategic tasks with operational demands
