Defence technology business require an IT Category Manager. Applicants need strategic procurement experience within IT Category and be comfortable partnering with senior and technical stakeholders.
The IT Category Manager will report to an Indirect Group Procurement Manager and be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategy in the IT space. IT in the context of this client includes; hardware, software, networks and relatively new technology around AI and machine learning.
Specific duties of the IT Category Manager include:
- Supply market intelligence and supplier onboarding/selection activities
- Development and execution of procurement strategies - hardware, software, networks, AI etc
- Tendering, Negotiation, supplier relationship management and contract management
- Managing senior stakeholder (to board level) and technical stakeholder relationships
- Contribute to IT projects in regards to R&D and new technologies being explored
IT Category Managers should meet the following criteria:
- IT procurement experience at a strategic level - sourcing, category management etc
- Knowledge of the IT supplier landscape and interest in new technology
- Gravitas and stakeholder engagement skills
- Comfortable within a fast-paced environment as the business grows rapidly
- Knowledge of modern supplier relationship strategies
