High-tech manufacturer require a Strategic Buyer. Applicants need strategic procurement expertise within manufacturing or engineering. The position is available on a 12 month FTC.
The Strategic Buyer will be responsible for a spend of £15-£20m across mechanical suppliers, capex and non-production items. During the 12 month FTC the Strategic Buyer will contribute towards the development and implementation of commodity management strategies, improve relationships with suppliers and deepen stakeholder collaboration.
Specific duties of the Strategic Buyer include:
- Develop and negotiate LTAs
- Supplier selection and supply market intelligence activities
- Tendering
- Negotiation and contributions to cost saving targets
- SRM and contract management activities
Strategic Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Strategic level procurement experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
- Able to negotiate and achieve cost down targets
- Ability to engage with stakeholders
- Able to analyse procurement data to make decisions
- Comfortable with 12 month FTC
