A leading engineering organisation require a Cost Saving Specialist. The role is akin to an Indirect Senior Buyer and will focus on reducing cost from a non-production / manufacturing consumables, supplier base.
The Cost Saving Specialist will report to an Indirect Procurement Manager and work within a team of Buyers and Senior Buyers. They will be responsible for taking cost out of the manufacturing consumables and non-production supplier base. The Cost Saving Specialist will run a number of procurement projects to asses and evaluate current supplier relationships and contracts.
Specific duties of the Cost Saving Specialist include:
- Drive cost reduction activities in conjunction with stakeholders and indirect suppliers
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Work with stakeholders to understand scope of supply chain support needed
- Undertake cost comparisons between suppliers
- Support tenders, negotiations, and contracts within indirect spend / manufacturing consumables
- Report on cost out success and share findings with procurement leadership
Cost Saving Specialist Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Procurement experience at Buyer, Senior Buyer or Strategic Buyer level.
- The ability to run procurement projects
- Previous exposure to indirect suppliers - non-production items and manufacturing consumables would be ideal
- Ability to drive cost out of the supply chain
- Supplier Relationship Management and Contract Management, awareness
