Programme Purchaser X2 & Strategic Buyer

A global manufacturing business is looking to recruit for 1x Programme Buyer and 1x Strategic Buyer based in Cwmbran on a fulltime permanent contract.

The Buyer will be responsible for managing all purchasing requirements across a broad range of suppliers, actioning requirements through MRP system or strategic initiatives to ensure products are manufactured on time and in full to meet customer requirements.

Role - 1x Programme Buyer & 1x Strategic Buyer

Type - Permanent

Location - Cwmbran, hybrid working

Key responsibilities for the Programme Buyer & Strategic Buyer roles and will not be limited to:

• Focal point of contact for day-to-day material requirements
• Work with suppliers to ensure on time in full to meet business requirements
• Drive improvement actions via KPI review and maintenance
• Manage and process purchase order requirements
• Perform Request for Quotations on custom parts as required
• Manage deliveries of Purchase orders to be just-in-time for inventory management
• Escalate, where appropriate, any significant issues that require management intervention
• Work with suppliers to resolve issues impacting performance, such as, Quality discrepancies,
• Responsible for issuing Request for Proposals/Quotations (RFP/Q) to strategic suppliers within the Target Purchasing Strategy (TPS)
• Identify and implement cost saving opportunities within the Supply Chain to meet programme budgets
• Creation and management of supplier Long Term Agreements (LTA)

Key skills and experience required for Programme Buyer and Strategic Buyer job applicant and will not be limited to:

• Proven experience as a Buyer, manufacturing background is preferred
• MRP/ERP systems experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
