A leading manufacturing business is recruiting an Indirect Buyer. Applicants need previous exposure to indirect procurement (Capex, Consumables FM, MRO, PPE, Office Equipment, non-production site services etc.)
The Indirect Buyer will work closely with an Indirect Procurement Manager to develop and execute indirect procurement strategies. Supporting a large production manufacturing facility, the Indirect Buyer can expect to source across; Capex, MRO, FM (hard and soft), utilities, manufacturing consumables, freight/logistics, and stationary/office furniture. The role represents an excellent opportunity to join a mature and successful procurement team.
Specific duties of the Indirect Buyer include:
- Supply market intelligence activities - understand supplier landscape of assigned indirect categories
- Supplier selection, review and de-selection activities
- Tendering
- Negotiate, place and manage contracts and purchase orders with suppliers
- On-going SRM and vendor management activities - management of supplier scorecards
- Foster excellent relationships with relevant stakeholders across the business
Indirect Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Generalist indirect procurement background, as an Indirect Buyer, Site Services Buyer or Non-Production Buyer, Indirect Category Buyer etc.
- If experience in direct procurement, an appetite/interest to move into indirects can be considered
- Capable of managing procurement/sourcing activity - tendering, supplier selection etc.
- Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
