The Job

We have an exciting new opportunity available for a self-motivated, conscientious individual to join the Planning and Procurement team at a rapidly growing organistion based in Kidlington on a full time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with our suppliers to ensure the quality of materials supplied meets the company's needs, standards, and expectations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to deliver to agreed timelines, understand the importance of continuous improvement and be passionate about what they do.

They will be capable of working independently on projects as well as within a team to deliver required outcomes.

Job responsibilities

  • Management of the Approved Supplier List: verifying supplier quality standards; track, qualify or disqualify suppliers according to company standards
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs, including periodic business reviews and/or audits
  • Review and management of existing Supplier Agreements, including price updates and validity periods and maintenance of accurate supplier records
  • Management of new Agreement implementation process
  • Generation and implementation of cost reduction ideas
  • Writing and maintaining SOPs relevant to supplier management programs


Previous experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience within an engineering, quality assurance and/or manufacturing supplier quality environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Essential:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal customers
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to improve supplier relationships
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001 Quality System
  • Ability to perform statistical reporting and composing logical, detailed, and analytical reports
  • Organised and resourceful, high attention to detail with an ability to work to demanding targets and tight deadlines
  • Ability to challenge and effectively improve current practices


Desirable:

  • Experience working in the Life Science industry
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Internal or external audit training and/or experience


Education: Degree educated (Life Science desirable)
