I am currently looking to recruit a communication manager to join a global automotive company in their Farnborough office. This role is a contract position and on a full time contract.


PR/ marketing experience

The Job

Location: Farnborough

Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs

Rate: £23.64- £35.76ph PAYE (depending on experience)

Contract Length : End of June 2022

The role of the communications manager will include:

  • Plan and deliver year-round proactive PR activity to position Alphabet as a thought-leader and maintain visibility for target audience
  • Lead all reactive PR activities, eg key business changes or incidents
  • Manage PR agency relationship
  • Co-ordinate closely with social media and website activity to maximise exposure and engagement
  • Co-ordinate the view on broad industry topics for external comment or inputs to industry body influencing
  • Devise and maintain the company policy for external communications to all audiences
  • Convene and lead Crisis Comms working groups where required (eg. COVID, Brexit, Semi-Conductor shortage)
  • Be a member of the Incident Management team in case of any Business Continuity Plan or Major Incident Handling being invokes
  • Relationship management for core Marketing and PR agencies - KPI setting, reviews, contracts
  • Co-ordinate the collation of the annual Marketing Plan and budget allocation, aligning with HQ on strategic direction and carrying out regular in-year reviews to adjust/optimise
  • Package and position the Marketing Plan for wider stakeholder communication
  • Devise suitable communications key messages for marketing and PR content/activity
  • Lead working groups for major communications projects,
  • Lead the development of a share of cross-channel product campaigns along with other members of the Marketing Team

The successful communications manager will require:

  • Creative thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic and tactical thinking
  • Influencing skills and comfortable managing stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience of B2B PR/marketing, ideal would be automotive leasing company
