Our client uses innovative AI techniques, on a mission to empower cities to create sustainable, citizen-centric transport networks.

About the role;

This is the sales front-line; the beginning of long lasting and beneficial client relationships that will deliver positive change to our roads. The role is responsible for opening doors, for starting the dialogue and for setting appointments for Business Development Managers.

You will have a key role in achieving the growth aspirations for the company and will have the opportunity to have a lasting impact.

This is a target-led position, where targets will be set monthly/quarterly, so a go-getter attitude, tenacity, and resilience are crucial. You will work both collaboratively with the sales managers and independently to develop relationships with your clients, internal stakeholders, and teammates.

Ideal candidate;

  • You are effective at seeking out sales opportunities through outbound prospecting. You know how to speak a client's language, live and breathe their issues and priorities, and will be able to conduct meaningful and valuable conversations with clients.
  • You are an excellent communicator, customer-centric, and personable.
  • You can understand competitive landscapes, as well as the complexities of local authority and government.

Responsibilities include;

  • Contacting prospects to establish their needs and secure new business sales appointments
  • Diligently and independently pursue research into new clients, working with the Business Development Manager account owners
  • Researching organisations and potential contacts online to identify new leads and new markets
  • Working closely with the Business Development Managers and UK Sales Director to prioritise new leads
  • Providing marketplace feedback and competitor intelligence to internal groups to improve and enhance product offerings
  • Attending conferences and industry events in the UK to deepen your understanding of the traffic monitoring and ITS markets
  • Keeping up to date with the latest relevant industry and government news and sharing it with the Sales Team
  • Submitting correct, detailed supplier registrations on key online portals
  • Record all activities in the CRM and use the CRM as your central, primary working tool to generate valuable reports and insights

Requirements for the role;

  • Bachelor's degree or two year's work experience in a relevant role
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Articulate, friendly and assertive manner
  • Effective relationship building capabilities, including quickly building rapport over the phone and asking incisive questions to understand client needs.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce appropriate and authoritative email content which captures attention and compels recipients to respond
  • Excellent research and data mining skills and able both to comprehend market changes and events, whilst also identifying key prospect targets and unearthing contact details
  • Accustomed to working through a CRM
  • Track record of success in outbound prospect calling or telemarketing
  • Track record of hitting sales or account management targets
  • Ability to quickly understand new technical concepts and develop a good understanding of product capabilities

Not essential but desired attributes;

  • Experience of fast-paced, high-growth start-up environments
  • Experience with and understanding of working with complex, analytical technologies

Benefits include;

  • Flexible working policies
  • Personal training budget
  • Annual company away trip, and regular, varied events
  • This is an exciting opportunity to take an active part in shaping the future of an energetic company dedicated to revolutionising the way our cities work
