Job description
FMCG/Retail business requires a Supply Chain Planner. Applicants need; purchasing, supply chain, or stock control experience, ideally within an FMCG or retail business and have strong analytical skills, comfort with MS Excel and planning tools.
The Supply Chain Planner will join a team responsible for planning purchasing and inventory management activities to meet forecasted customer demand. The business import their products as finished goods from global supply chain partners, and relationship building with international and local suppliers is an important part of the role.
Specific duties of the Supply Chain Planner include:
- Purchasing from UK and overseas suppliers - purchase order management
- Monitor inventory and stock levels escalating material shortages that threaten forecasts
- Analysing inventory, forecasts and product data to drive purchasing and supply chain strategies
- Collaboration with stakeholders in Design and Sales
- Support the adoption of best practice techniques within the supply chain function
Supply Chain Planner applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience in; purchasing, supply chain planning, demand planning, logistics or order management
- Familiarity with the demands of working within an FMCG, Retail or Consumer focused business
- Analytical skills and comfort working with data
- Experience working in MS Excel and/or inventory planning or purchasing software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
