A Day in the life of Dan Taylor - Recruitment Consultant, Procurement & Supply Chain

My career in recruitment started with Barclay Meade in mid 2013, having just graduated in Sport and Exercise Science at Chichester University.

During the interview stage Barclay Meade came across as very successful and prestigious recruitment company. Having very little recruitment experience I was very much supported and guided during my first few months. Not only did I have an initial 3 month training period with an exceptional in-house training team but the support and mentoring from my own team and manager was key for me to progress, understand my industry and the recruitment processes quickly.

Being part of a professional and supportive team definitely gave me the confidence and motivation to succeed. Recruitment can be competitive, which keeps you engaged and on your toes, but the team work and support you have within Barclay Meade creates a very positive and encouraging working environment.

I thoroughly enjoy my role at Barclay Meade; I have become a very specialised consultant, and as a result, I am very passionate about my market and the clients that I work with. On a day to day basis I tend to engage with clients to develop new and existing business, network with candidates regarding new opportunities, review and amend CVs, attend industry exhibitions; meet and consult with both clients and candidates, organise and arrange interviews and effectively find my clients the right candidates for their specific requirements.

Although recruitment can be challenging, it is certainly an exciting and prosperous career path where you are always rewarded and recognised for your achievements and the work you put in.
